In the past and until the mid-19th century, glass water bottles were made manually by blowing air into hot glass and shaping the neck.
In 1850, a semi-automatic method was introduced. Over the years, major changes occurred in the production of glass products,
but the traditional method of making glass water bottles is still considered one of the best ways to produce glass.
The main materials required for manufacturing glass bottles are:
- Sand
- Lime
- Sodium carbonate
- Silica
By combining these materials at a specific temperature, molten glass is obtained. Depending on the desired size and shape of the water bottle,
the molten glass is poured into different molds to produce the bottles in the factory.
Maintaining hygiene and production standards is a key priority at Jahane Bolour.
What Are the Stages of Glass Water Bottle Production?
Automatic glass bottle production is done using two main methods:
Blow and Blow Method
In this method, a portion of molten glass is poured into a mold, and compressed air is blown through a tube to shape it.
The molten glass is pushed toward the bottom of the mold to form the base of the bottle.
The glass is blown until it fills the mold completely. Because this method creates thick walls, the bottles are reheated and blown again
in the final mold to achieve the desired wall thickness. To eliminate stress marks and surface defects, the bottles are annealed in a controlled furnace.
Press and Blow Method
In this method, a portion of molten glass is poured into a mold, and a piston presses the material into shape.
The subsequent blowing process is similar to the previous method.
Wholesale Purchase of Glass Bottles
Many beverage and drinking water industries require glass bottles for packaging.
Since direct purchase from the manufacturing factory may not always be possible,
distributors supply these products to buyers.
Buying glass bottles in bulk directly from the factory or workshop reduces the final cost compared to market prices.
When purchasing glass bottles, consider the following points:
- Pay attention to the product’s quality and integrity.
- Buy from reputable producers and distributors.
For many, the quality of the glass used in bottles is essential because it directly affects health.
Ensure all production standards are met and only high-quality raw materials are used.
The materials used in glass bottle production must match the intended use.
Since glass bottles come into direct contact with beverages, they must be made from safe, food-grade materials.
For colored glass bottles, only non-toxic and food-safe colorants should be used.
Custom Glass Bottle Production
Jahane Bolour Glass Factory, aiming to produce custom-designed glass bottles for large companies such as
Zibasazan and Niloufar, has attracted significant attention among glass bottle manufacturers
in Tehran and across Iran.
